Use case

Selected projects

Four of more than 75 projects, the ones that best show how we work: from workshops, through architecture, to a measurable result.

System for a rail operator
Railway 2024

Time for a system: a rail operator moves beyond Excel

Solution. A three-hour workshop produced the specification for a single system: central order management, suggestions of drivers qualified for the route, a digital rolling-stock register, maintenance tracked from request to closure, and reports in the formats the authorities require.

Types of project

What we do most often

Four types of engagement that recur in our work. Most projects combine two of them.

Custom systems

Applications written for a process that no off-the-shelf product can handle: driver rostering at a rail operator, the credit process at banks, online insurance sales.

Integrations and migrations

Connecting systems that were never designed to work together, Autenti e-signatures, Google Maps, XLSX file import, and moving processes out of Excel into a single system.

System audits

An assessment of the architecture, performance, integrations and security of existing software, with a list of risks by priority and an improvement plan.

Maintenance and development

Looking after systems after go-live, from responding to tickets to support with agreed response times, and further development as new needs arise.

Clients and projects

Who we have worked with, and on what

Some of our clients and projects, cooperative banks, companies, organisations and our own products.

Routes and driver rostering

Custom software for managing journey routes and optimising train drivers’ work: a database of points, lines and connections, an algorithm that picks a driver who knows the route, a digital rolling-stock register, service-request handling and route import from XLSX files.

Result. One system replaced the scattered spreadsheets, operational errors were all but eliminated, and preparing reports went from hours to minutes. We closed the first phase in May 2024, on time and within the agreed budget.
